Chelsea + Shawn | Tyrone, Georgia | Engagement Session | Viva L’Event

Boyd0095

Meet Chelsea and Shawn! This outdoorsy, Georgia couple will be tying the knot on October 22nd, 2016, the perfect season for one of their favorite hobbies, camping.  The wedding will take place at Glendalough Manor in Tyrone, Georgia with a color palette including deep, autumn colors of green, burgundy, and gold. We can’t get over how earthy and gorgeous their engagement pictures are, photographed by Cara of F8 Photo Studios.

Take a look at our interview with our bride Chelsea below to find out and to get to know this amazing couple more!

Tell us your story:

Shawn and I first heard about each other through a mutual friend of ours. She encouraged us to get together knowing we shared similar interests. Shortly after, he invited me to attend a music show in Athens, Ga. At the time, he was playing in a reggae band and they were set to perform that night. I attended the show with a close friend and upon meeting Shawn, I instantly felt a deep connection. We have been together ever since the moment we met that January night.

How did he pop the question?

Shawn and I have always been lovers of nature and the outdoors. We always plan a cabin trip in the North Georgia mountains every fall and often invite many of our friends to join us. Shawn seized this opportunity to surprise me. As we were walking along the Appalachian trial we stopped at a beautiful overlook that showed the fall foliage. As I sat there gazing at the array of colors before me, Shawn knelt down beside me holding a diamond ring in his hands and asked me to marry him. Tears of happiness began to fall from my eyes as I responded yes to his proposal. Once I was able to get signal, I immediately called my parents only to realize that they knew all along and that Shawn had asked both my mother and my father for my hand in marriage. In addition, Shawn had mentioned to all of our closest friend’s months prior that he had the intention of proposing to me during this trip and would love for them to be a part of our celebratory weekend. When we arrived at our rental cabin, all of our friends were there to congratulate us and share the love. It was truly unforgettable.

What’s your favorite thing to do together?

Since we love being in nature some of our favorite things to do together are hiking, hunting, gardening, and spending time with our black lab Trapper.

What are you most excited about for your wedding day?

To marry the man I love and to be able to share that moment with all of our friends and family!

Do you have any advice for newly engaged couples?

My advice would be to allow your wedding to reflect both of you and to remember not to allow the planning process to stress you out because in the end, the greatest gift is love.

Why is the photo below your favorite from the engagement session?

It is our favorite because it illustrates how we feel about our relationship at this point of our lives. As we move hand in hand, we are walking towards our new life together always supporting and loving one another. The bridge is also a symbol of transition and connection and seems fitting for the rite of passage we are about to experience.

What a sweet and awesome couple! We can’t wait for this fall! See more from their engagement session below.
