Being a part of the luxury bridal show at The Carolina Inn is always a treat each year! This year was extra special for Viva L’Event as we were asked to create a design for the beautiful Anne Hill Courtyard at the Inn. I can’t tell you how much I LOVE a tented wedding at the Inn, their ballrooms are beautiful but why not use both spaces!
The theme for this show was colorful confetti so we wanted to showcase some bright colors in the outdoor courtyard. I believe that black and white are making a big comeback in weddings in 2017 and 2018 but I wanted to show how to use a black and white check linen in an elegant way. Also to showcase a layout that is more unique.
I personally like to design spaces that are unique to the couple specifically. To open up their minds to show them ideas that they never thought of, this is my job as their designer. Couples that come to be interested in hiring me for not only their planning but their design, they are not only hiring me as a designer but for me to embed myself in their vision. For me to think outside the box for them, to open their minds to something new, something they may have never thought of.
I was able to work with a great group of vendors on this design project and I thank them for believing in my vision and helping me bring it to life.

On my second space inside the ballroom I took a softer color palette of grey and peach with accents of blues for my look.
Utilizing beautiful rental pieces from Cottage Luxe Boutique Event Rentals and working again with the fabulous Danielle (Mason Dixon Designs) on the calligraphy piece for my menu cards. I like to mix soft pieces with masculine pieces too when I can.
I have had couples ask me many times can I use this color for my spring wedding or can I use this color for my fall wedding or is that out of season? There are ways to bring in colors at all times of the year is my thought but doing it the right way.
I’m kind of obsessed with this Harrison Chair from Cottage Luxe with it’s leather stitched back and weathered oak it’s a stunner! Plus her rental pillows are on point in every way!! Yes the little wax sealed honey bottles are my thing and I’m kind of in love with them and I think the bride’s were too!
Olive branches, jasmine vine and garden roses on this wooden pedestal table, OH MY! A perfect sweetheart table with a soft and elegant look was our vision for this space. The hand painted and calligraphy menu cards were the perfect final touch to this vision by Danielle of Mason Dixon Designs!
How do you think it turned out?
